Privacy Policy

Amigo POS (“Amigo POS”, “we”, “us”) is a point-of-sale and ordering platform for restaurants. This policy explains what information we collect through the Amigo POS mobile app and web application, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to the Android app published on Google Play under the package gg.amigo.pos and to the web app at pos.amigo.gg.
1. Who we are
Amigo POS is operated by the Amigo team. You can reach us at support@amigo.gg for any privacy question, data access request, or deletion request.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to run the POS for your restaurant:
- Staff account information. Email address, phone number, hashed password, role (admin / cashier / kitchen), and the tenant (restaurant) you belong to. This is created by your restaurant’s admin or via signup.
- Authentication data. One-time codes (OTP) sent to your phone or email during login, and a bearer session token issued after successful login.
- Customer records (CRM). If your restaurant uses the CRM feature, customer names, phone numbers, order history, loyalty points, and feedback you collect from your guests. The restaurant is the data controller for this information; we process it on your behalf.
- Order and payment records. Cart contents, item totals, taxes, discounts, payment method recorded at checkout (cash / card / UPI / wallet), and the staff member who processed the order. Amigo POS does not process card or UPI payments — those are recorded for your accounting only.
- Device & technical data. A randomly generated device identifier in local app storage, your configured backend URL and printer settings, and standard request logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, response status) retained for security and troubleshooting.
We do not collect: precise location, contacts, microphone or camera audio, SMS messages, or advertising identifiers. The app does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in on your devices.
- To operate the POS, kitchen display, and admin functions for your tenant.
- To generate receipts, KOTs, and accounting reports for your restaurant.
- To deliver loyalty points and coupons your restaurant has configured.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and technical problems.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Who we share data with
- Your restaurant. Staff accounts and customer records you create are visible to other authorized users of the same tenant.
- Infrastructure providers. Our servers are hosted with reputable cloud providers; data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) between the app, the server, and the database.
- SMS / email delivery. One-time login codes are delivered through transactional SMS and email providers. They see only your phone number / email and the OTP body.
- Legal requests. We may disclose data when required by applicable law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
5. Data retention
We retain staff and customer records for as long as your restaurant account is active. Order and invoice records may be retained for up to 8 years after the transaction date to meet Indian tax and accounting record-keeping requirements (e.g., GST). When you delete your account, personal identifiers are removed; anonymized order totals may be kept for tax compliance.
6. Security
Passwords are stored only as bcrypt-style hashes. Bearer tokens are stored locally on your device and excluded from Android cloud backup. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized operators.
7. Your rights
- Access & correction. You can view and edit your staff profile and your tenant’s customer records inside the app, or email us to request a copy.
- Deletion. You can request deletion of your account and the data associated with it. See Delete your account for the process, or email support@amigo.gg.
- Withdrawal of consent. If you no longer wish to use the app, uninstall it and request deletion.
8. Children
Amigo POS is a business tool intended for use by adults working in restaurants. It is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. International transfers
Our servers are operated in India. If you use the app from outside India, your data will be transferred to and processed in India.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in the app.
